Men's Cross Country Competes at CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (October 21, 2022) - Three members of the Stonehill College men's cross country team tuned up for next weekend's Northeast Conference Championships by running at the CCSU Mini-Meet, hosted by fellow NEC member Central Connecticut State University this afternoon.

Senior Andrew Janus led the way for the Stonehill trio, posting a time of 16:15 over the five-kilometer course to finish 59th out of 96 entries overall. Freshmen Nicholas Cozzolino and Jason McGettrick rounded out the Stonehill entries with the majority of the team off to rest for the NEC Championships. Cozzolino finished in 16:46, while McGettrick posted a time of 17:33.

Stonehill is back in action next Friday when it makes school history by becoming the first athletic program to compete for a Northeast Conference Championship with the NEC Cross Country Championships, hosted by Saint Francis (Pa.) University at the B&D Acres Course in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, starting at 11 a.m.
