Skyhawk's XC Teams Earned Seven Total Weekly Awards

EASTON, Mass. (October 5, 2022)- The Stonehill men's and women's cross country teams earned a total of seven Northeast Conference (NEC) weekly awards, led by the third NEC Rookie of the Week selection by freshman Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Connecticut/Bacon Academy), the Conference announced today. The shining performers of this week include Reilly Johnston (East Providence, Rhode Island/Saint Raphael Academy) and Colin Black (Hopedale, Massachusetts/Hopedale) of the Stonehill men's cross country team, and Rebecca Erhard (Wenham, Massachusetts/Hamilton Wenham), Victoria Lombardi (Peabody, Massachusetts/Peabody Veterans Memorial), Emma Lawrence (Milford, Massachusetts/Milford), and three-time Rookie of the Week, Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Connecticut/Bacon Academy) of the women's cross country squad. They were recognized by the conference earlier for their athletic performance at this past weekend's invitational hosted by Lehigh University.

 

Malloy has earned the Rookie of the week award with yet another thrilling performance this past weekend at the Paul Short Run. She crossed the finish line in the 6k race at 22:06.8. In each race she has competed in so far this year, Malloy continues to break her own personal PR's, assisting in the team finishing high on the leaderboard.

At the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University, the teams broke multiple Skyhawk records on this course, giving this season's runners a place in the books for their outstanding personal and group performances.

  • Johnston led the way for Stonehill's men's team, finishing with a new personal best time of 24:51.9 in the 8k course, also being the fastest time the program ever achieved for this course.

  • Black got the second-best time the program ever achieved for this course, and a new personal record time of 24:52.7.

  • Erhard crossed the finish line with a time of 22:09.5, making her time the ninth best for the Skyhawks.

  • Lombardi with a time of 22:05.8, making this the sixth best time.

  • Lawrence led the way for the women's team at 21:59.4, which is the fourth best time on the course for the program.

  • Malloy finished close behind with a finish of 22:06.8, making that the seventh best time on the course. 

Stonehill continues their 2022 season when they head to Dorchester, Mass. at Franklin Park to compete in the New England Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 8th at (W) noon & (M) 1:30 p.m.
