EASTON, Mass. (October 12, 2022)- The Stonehill men's and women's cross country teams earned a total of six Northeast Conference (NEC) weekly awards, led by the NEC record fifth NEC Rookie of the Week selection by freshman Jordan Malloy, the Conference announced today.

This week's highlighted prime performers included senior Colin Black of the men's side, while fifth-year Rebecca Erhard, senior Victoria Lombardi, sophomore Emma Lawrence, joining Malloy of the women's squad in earning weekly recognitions for their efforts at the New England Cross Country Championships in Boston over the weekend..

Malloy, whose five NEC Rookie of the Week awards this fall, has set a new Conference record, turned in yet another impressive performance this past weekend at the New England Championships. She crossed the finish line in the women's championship at 18:54, to place 21st out of 122 racers. The women, who finished just three points behind fellow NEC member Central Connecticut State University (115) with their 118 points, were also edged by Northeastern University (116) but finished ahead of Bryant University (eighth), Holy Cross (10th), Maine (12th), Merrimack (13th) and Sacred Heart (14th). The Skyhawk men finished ninth with 245 points, ahead of UMass Lowell (253) in tenth, Bryant (12th), Merrimack (13th), and Sacred Heart (19th).

  • Lawrence led the way for the Skyhawks placing 12th out of 122, with a finish of 18:44.
  • Erhard crossed the finish line shortly after, finishing in 19th out of 122, with a time of 18:53.
  • Lombardi finished strong in 20th place with a time of 18:53.
  • Black led the Skyhawk men with a time of 25:24, placing 20th out of 130 runners.

Stonehill returns to action in New Britain, Conn. at Stanley Quarter Park to run a conference race in the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, October 21st at (W) 3:30 PM & (M) 4 p.m.
