WEST HAVEN, Conn. (October 2, 2021) - Stonehill College notched a hard-earned road point with a double-overtime scoreless draw at the University of New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer action at Kathy Zolad Stadium this afternoon.

The Details

  • Junior Andrew Hammersley continued his strong play in the Stonehill goal this season with five saves to preserve his first career shutout.
  • Freshman Themis Kastoris finished with six saves in the New Haven goal for his second shutout.
  • Stonehill nearly jumped out to an early lead when sophomore Jacob Woznicki broke in one on one with Kastoris in the sixth minute, but fired wide left of the target.
  • Stonehill tested Kastoris twice in the second overtime session, the best chance off the boot of freshman Iago Luiz De Sousa-Vieira in the 103rd minute and then sophomore Zach Davis in the 108th.
