BURLINGTON, VT. (October 16, 2022) – Stonehill College Field Hockey traveled to Burlington, Vermont today for a noon matchup against the Catamounts at Moulton Winder Field. Vermont gained four goals during today's match and the Skyhawks with a scoreless game.

Highlights

  • Stonehill sophomore Shannon Conte put up a tough fight defending the goal, with a total of 11 saves. 
  • Senior Kate Hall scored the first goal for the Cats.
  • Fifth Year Maddie Moran scored the second and third goals of the game for UVM.
  • Freshman Olivia Nolan scored the fourth and final goal for Vermont.
  • Sophomore Meg Weyer had three assists for UVM.

 

How It Happened

  • Hall scored Vermont's first goal at the 8:26 mark in the first quarter with a pass from Weyer.
  • Moran scored the following goal from a pass from sophomore Alina Gerke at the 20:28 mark, giving the Cats a 2-0 lead.
  • Moran scored another goal shortly after in the second quarter at the 24:04 mark, assisted by Weyer.
  • Nolan scored the game's last goal at the 33:18 mark with a pass from Weyer, leading Vermont to win 4-0.

Stonehill (2-9, 1-3 NEC) returns to action on Friday, when it hosts Sacred Heart University for a 3 p.m. game. The Skyhawks will then play an away conference game against Saint Francis (Pa.) University on Sunday, October 23 at noon.
