NCAA Division II Tennis Selection Shows Set for Tonight at 7 PM
EASTON, Mass. (April 28, 2010) - The Stonehill College men's and women's tennis teams will learn their NCAA Tournament fates tonight when the NCAA Division II Championship Selection Shows air via www.ncaa.com at 7 p.m.
The Stonehill women (17-3, 12-1 NE-10) are seeking their second-straight NCAA Tournament bid after finishing in second place in the Northeast-10 regular season standings and reaching the NE-10 Tournament championship match for the second-straight year. The Skyhawks reached the "Sweet Sixteen" in last year's NCAA Tournament in Altamote Springs, Fla.
The Stonehill men (13-7, 9-2 NE-10) are seeking an unprecedented fifth-straight NCAA Tournament bid, which would tie for the second-longest NCAA Tournament streak in Stonehill history along with the women's basketball team's current five-year run. They trail women's basketball's nine-straight NCAA Tournament bids from 1991-98. The Skyhawks finished third in the NE-10 regular season standings and reached the NE-10 semifinals last week.
