BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. (October 17, 2009) - Stonehill College extended its winning streak to four matches with its second-straight shutout effort in picking up a 4-0 victory over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer action at Pace Field today.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Hickey (Lee, Mass./Lee) made four saves to post her second-straight shutout for Stonehill. The clean sheet was Hickey's third of the season as she has not allowed a goal over her last 198:19 of action. Freshman goalkeeper Courtney Hagen (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz) finished with seven stops for Pace as the Skyhawks posted a 21-12 advantage in shots for the match.


Sophomore Sarah Hickey extended her shutout streak to nearly 200 minutes with her second-straight clean sheet today.

Sophomore Kelsey Mahoney (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth) led Stonehill with a goal and two assists, while junior Kirstie St. Martin (Providence, R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) contributed two assists. The Skyhawks got goals from four different players as juniors Michele Norton (Abington, Mass./Cardinal Spellman) and Aimee Terreri (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) and freshman Adelle Dagher (Methuen, Mass./Central Catholic) also netted goals.

Norton opened the scoring a mere 47-seconds into the match with her third goal of the season and second in as many matches, off a pass from Mahoney. The Skyhawks tripled their lead with a pair of goals just before halftime. Terreri netted her first goal of the season with 5:12 to go before the intermission off a pass from St. Martin, before St. Martin set up Mahoney for her fifth marker of the year with only 46-seconds to go before the break - the fourth-straight match she has scored. Stonehill capped the scoring late in regulation when Dagher collected her first collegiate goal with 2:35 left in the match.

Stonehill (8-7-0, 6-6-0 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday when it visits Assumption College at 7 p.m. The Skyhawks return home next Saturday to host Le Moyne College for Senior Day as part of Alumni Weekend at the College at 11 a.m. Pace (1-13-1, 0-12-0 NE-10) visits The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
