Men's Cross Country Wins Second Event of Season at Harry F. Anderson Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 25, 2021) - Stonehill College, ranked No. 5 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II East Regional rankings, posted its second event win of the season, by taking the team title at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College, ranked No. 2 in the region, in a preview of the course that will host the NCAA Division II East Regional in November, today.

Top Stonehill Finisher – Reilly Johnston (7th) 25:54.4

The Details

  • Junior Reilly Johnston led five Stonehill runners in the top 15 with his seventh-place finish, in a field of 203 runners, by completing the eight-kilometer course in 25:54.4. It marks the highest individual finish of his career and his second career top ten.
  • Senior Shane Braz posted his second career top ten with his tenth-place finish in 26:06.4, while junior Colin Black finished 11th in 26:09.5.

After three straight weeks of meets, Stonehill will have a weekend off before returning to action for the 2021 New England Championships at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on Saturday, September 9.
