Logan Earns Second-Straight Spalding NE-10 Rookie of the Week Award

Fredericktown, Ohio, freshman collects weekly honor for third time this season 

EASTON, Mass. (December 23, 2013) – Stonehill College freshman forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for the second straight week and third time overall by the Conference office today.

Logan, who is one of two freshmen to have been named Rookie of the Week in the NE-10 a league-high three times this season, paced Stonehill with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 2-for-3 from three-point range, while converting 3-of-4 free-throws in its lone game of the week, a 72-66 non-conference setback at Chestnut Hill College on Friday afternoon. He also led the Skyhawks with seven rebounds to go with three assists and two steals in 30 minutes.

Logan has started all ten games for Stonehill in his first collegiate season and shares the team lead in scoring with 11.5 points per game to go with 7.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and nearly a steal per game in 29.8 minutes per contest. He is shooting 44.9-percent from the field, including a team-high 57.9-percent (11-for-19) from three-point range, while draining 61.5% (24-39) of his free-throw attempts. Logan leads the NE-10 in three-point field goal percentage while ranking 11th for rebounding. He also earned NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors on November 11 and December 16.

Logan was an All-State performer as a junior and senior at Fredericktown High School, earning Mid-Ohio Conference MVP honors as a junior. He scored 1,501 over his career, setting a new school record.

Stonehill (3-7, 1-5 NE-10) is off until after the New Year when it visits Saint Michael's College for a Northeast-10 matchup on Saturday, January 4, at 3:30 p.m. The Skyhawks don't return home until Saturday, January 11, to host Pace University for a Northeast-10 clash at 3:30 p.m.
