The Game: Stonehill College opens its home schedule when it hosts Pace University for a non-conference clash at Timothy J. Coughlin Field at W.B. Mason Stadium on Friday night. The Skyhawks look to build off a 20-14 win down Route 138 in Milton, Mass., last Saturday, while the Setters will be trying to shake off a 57-0 loss to 25th-ranked East Stroudsburg University in Pleasantville, N.Y., last weekend. It marks the first of two meetings between these two programs this fall as the two will play their Northeast-10 matchup in Westchester County in mid-October.
Let's Celebrate!: At halftime, Stonehill will hold a
short ceremony to recognize its winning the 2009-10 Northeast-10
Conference Presidents' Cup. The Cup is presented annually to
signify overall athletic excellence in the NE-10 and is awarded to
the institution that compiles the most points based on the
placement at the conclusion of the regular season of each of its
programs which compete in NE-10 championships. Stonehill captured
its second Presidents' Cup by accumulating 186.5 points during the
academic year to out pace defending Cup champion and rival Bentley
University (178.5 points) by eight points. The College, having also
won the Presidents' Cup in 2005-06, has finished in the top three
in the final standings for six-straight years. Tonight's ceremony
will include Julie Ruppert, Commissioner of the
Northeast-10, Rev. Mark T. Cregan, CSC, President
of Stonehill College, Brendan Sullivan, Director
of Intercollegiate Athletics and junior Elliott
Turek (Southington, Conn.), chairperson of Stonehill's
Student-Athlete Advisory Committe (SAAC) and member of the football
team.

Charlie Bergeron, the voice of the Skyhawks, returns for his 13th season of broadcasting the action powered by Pack Network. WSHL 91.3 FM will also be broadcasting the game with Craig Riotto and Nick Toyas calling the action for the radio broadcast.
Leaders of the Pack: For the second-straight year,
Stonehill College is partnering with Pack Networks to provide live
"Packcasts" of all home football and men's and women's basketball
games along with other select athletic events. Fans can access the
webcasts via www.stonehillskyhawks.tv. Viewers can
opt to purchase single-game passes for $6.99 or purchase an
"All-Access" pass for $59.99, however Skyhawks Fans who sign up for
an All-Access pass before October 1 will receive a $10 discount.
All-Access pass members can view all Stonehill webcasts for the
entire year, while also gaining access to the archives and be able
to watch the webcasts at any time.
The Series: Tonight marks the 14th meeting all-time between these two programs. Pace holds an 8-5 advantage in the all-time series which dates back to 1995. However, Stonehill has won four of the last six encounters, including a 34-14 triumph here at W.B. Mason Stadium last season. The Skyhawks are 4-2 all-time at home against the Setters, winning both previous matchups here at W.B. Mason Stadium, and three-straight at home overall. Stonehill is 2-1 against Pace under head coach Rob Talley, winning both contests here at W.B. Mason Stadium.
On Deck: The Skyhawks open their Northeast-10 Conference schedule on the road next Saturday when they visit American International College in Springfield, Mass., at 1 p.m. Stonehill returns to W.B. Mason Stadium the following Friday, September 24, to host Merrimack College at 7 p.m.
