Erhard and Lombardi post top ten finishes to lead Skyhawks

MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 11, 2021) – Stonehill College, ranked No. 3 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II East Regional rankings, turned in a fourth-place team finish at the Shacklette Invitational, hosted by Saint Anselm College, in its first meet since the 2019 NCAA Division II Championships, this morning. 

Highlights

  • Senior Rebecca Erhard and junior Victoria Lombardi turned in top ten finishes to lead the way for Stonehill.
  • Erhard completed the six-kilometer course in 24:02.2 for fourth overall, while Lombardi finished seventh in 24:13.9. It marks the second-highest individual finish in Erhard's career and just her second top ten finish in nine career races, while Lombardi posted her first career top ten.
  • Freshman Emma Lawrence turned in a 13th place finish in her collegiate debut with a time of 25:00.0.

Team Talk

  • Stonehill's two top tens and three top 15 finishes led the way for a fourth-place team finish at the event with 66 points. Southern New Hampshire University took the team title with 46 points as the top four teams were separated by just 20 points. American International College was just a point off the win with 47 points, while host Saint Anselm was third with 60 points.
