North Reading, Mass. senior and Biddeford, Maine sophomore claim two All-East Region honors each

EASTON, Mass. (May 28, 2013) – Senior distance runner Caroline McBride (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) and sophomore sprinter Maria Curit (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) leads a list of seven All-East Region performers from the Stonehill women's track and field team the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced this week. The USTFCCCA recognizes the top five performers in individual events and the top three teams in relay events for the All-Region Teams.

McBride and Curit led the Skyhawks with two East Region honors each. McBride claimed East Region honors in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter events, while Curit earned East Region recognition for the 400-meter dash and the long jump event.

With two honors during the outdoor season, McBride finishes her Stonehill tenure with nine USTFCCCA East Region honors between her indoor and outdoor seasons. Curit's two selections give her eight total honors in just two years with the Skyhawks.

Senior Kristen Veit (Easthampton, Mass./Holyoke Catholic) also earned East Region recognition for her performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event. It is the third consecutive outdoor season and fifth time overall that she has earned All-Region honors.

Junior Meaghan Olin (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen)takes home her fourth All-Region honor in the pole vault event. The Skyhawks' junior set a new school-record in the pole vault earlier this spring at the Bridgewater State Invitational when she cleared 10-00.00.
