DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 24, 2023) – Freshman Jaelyn DeBoise carded the lowest championship round in program history to lead Stonehill College on day two of the 2023 Northeast Conference Championships on the 6,117-yard, par 72 layout of the Hills Course at LPGA International today.

DeBoise carded a six-over-par 78 today in the second round to move seven spots up the individual leaderboard with a two-day score of 173 after slicing 17 strokes off her first round 95. Her 78 marks the lowest round by a Stonehill player at a championship event, bettering the previous low of 81 by Emma Beaulieu, '22 in the second round of the 2019 Northeast-10 Conference Championship. DeBoise posted one birdie in her round on the 149-yard, par 3 12th hole – her third hole of the day – and finished her round with ten pars, shooting a two-over 38 on the back nine (her opening nine today), while posting a four-over 40 on the front. She is tied for tenth in the field of 55 in par three scoring, playing the four holes to a 3.25 average through two rounds and two over par overall.

DeBoise is now tied with senior co-captain Julia Dapron for 41st place overall with two-day scores of 173. Dapron followed up her team-best first round 85 with an 88 today, posting eight pars in her round.

Stonehill remains tenth in the team standings after the second round, despite cutting 18 shots off its first-round score with a 349 score today and a two-day total of 716. Reigning champions Sacred Heart University remains atop the team leaderboard with an even 600 team score, but saw its lead trimmed to three strokes after Delaware State University posted the lowest score of the tournament so far at 290 for a two-day total of 603. The top five teams are separated by 27 strokes, with the top four within 16 shots of the Pioneers.

Chantal El Chaib remains atop the individual leaderboard at one under par (143) after carding a 71 today. The round of the day went to Anna Ferreyra-Heit with a four-under-par 68 to move into second overall at even par (144). Four players are within six shots of the lead heading into Tuesday's third and final round, with nine within ten shots.

  • Senior co-captain Emily Kase is in 46th place overall after a second round 92 for a two-day score of 182. She carded the second of two birdies on the day by a Skyhawk on the 350-yard, par 4 18th hole – her ninth of the day.
  • Sophomore Mollie Thomas trimmed six shots off her first-round score with a round of 91 today to move up to 48th overall at 188 over two rounds. She finished the day with seven pars, including six on the front nine (her second nine) to post a four-over 40 on the front.
  • Junior Hannah Pignato also showed improvement on her second-round score, trimming four strokes off her Sunday round with a 95 today to move up to 50th overall (194).

The NEC Championship concludes with the third and final round on Tuesday morning. Stonehill will again tee off from the tenth hole starting at 8 a.m.
