CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (December 12, 2023) – Boston College posted its fourth-straight win with a 101-37 victory over Stonehill College in a non-conference women's basketball matchup at Silvio O. Conte Forum today.

Senior Dontavia Waggoner led four Boston College players in double-figures with a game-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, three rebounds, an assist and steal. Junior Andrea Daley added 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting, four rebounds and two steals, while sophomore T'yana Todd scored ten of her 14 points in the first half as she made all four of her shots from the floor over the first 20-minutes, finishing 5-for-6 shooting, with two rebounds and three steals. Freshman Lili Krasovec chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals off the bench, while sophomore Teya Sidberry pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and junior Kaylah Ivey dished out ten assists.

Freshman Brooke Paquette scored seven of her team-high eight points in the first half while making her first career start for Stonehill, draining a pair of three-pointers. Junior Sharn Hayward added seven points for the Skyhawks, while senior Jada Thornton chipped in six points and two rebounds.

Boston College built a 24-point halftime lead (44-20), making 9-of-16 (56.3-percent) shots in each of the first two quarters and pulled away from there. The Eagles led start to finish, holding an 8-4 lead after a jumper inside from Stonehill sophomore Paige Martin three and a half minutes into the game, before the hosts scored eight-straight points to open a 12-point cushion (16-4) after a pull up jumper from senior JoJo Lacey three-minutes later.

BC carried an 11-point lead (18-7) into the second quarter, but back-to-back three-pointers from Hayward and Paquette had Stonehill within nine twice in the opening minute of the frame. The Eagles answered with the next 12-points to open a 21-point advantage (34-13) on a jumper from Ivey midway through the quarter. The Skyhawks drew back within 17 (37-20) after two free-throws by freshman Emma Arcà with 1:45 to go in the half, but BC scored the final seven points of the half to carry a 24-point lead (44-20) into halftime. The Eagles lead would not dip inside 20 the rest of the way, shooting 67.6-percent (23-for-34) from the floor over the final 20-minutes.

Noteworthy

  • With Paquette's first career start, Stonehill put just its second starting lineup on the court this season.
  • Stonehill and Boston College were meeting for the tenth time in the two program's history – but first since a 62-58 Stonehill victory at Merkert Gymnasium on January 12, 1982. The Skyhawks still hold a 6-4 edge in the all-time series as BC snapped a four-game losing streak in the series with its first win over Stonehill since a 66-58 Eagles win at a Bentley University Holiday Tournament in 1975.
