Stonehill (14-8, 12-7 NE10), ranked No. 8 in this week's NCAA Division II East Regional rankings, is the lone NE10 member to compete in all 40 NE10 Women's Basketball Tournament since the Conference began sponsoring the championship in 1982. The Skyhawks will be hitting the road for an NE10 Tournament game for the first time since the 2018 NE10 Championship against Bentley University that had to be moved to Bryant University due to a power outage on the Stonehill campus. The Skyhawks last true NE10 Tournament road contest was the quarterfinals of the 2016 Tournament when Northeast top-seed Bentley edged Stonehill 54-50.

Stonehill will be seeking its 26th trip to an NE10 semifinal on Monday night as it looks to successfully defend its 2020 NE10 Championship. The Skyhawks have reached the NE10 Championship game 11 times, winning the NE10 Tournament title six: 1983, '87, '95, '97, 2008 and 2020. Stonehill reached the quarterfinals with a 65-55 first round win over Southwest No. 6 The College of Saint Rose at Merkert Gymnasium on Friday night.

Seniors Kayla Raymond and Emily Bramanti combined for 40 points to lead Stonehill against Saint Rose. Raymond scored a game-high 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 5-for-6 from three-point distance, with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots, while Bramanti finished with 17 points, six rebounds and two assists.

Pace (21-6, 14-5 NE10) jumped out to a 26-12 lead after a quarter of play and then withstood a comeback effort for a 76-64 victory over Northeast Division No. 7 Saint Michael's College in their first round matchup on Friday night. Postgrad Lauren Schetter paced the Setters with a game-high 25 points, including 12 in the first quarter alone to lead the hosts to a big lead after ten minutes, with eight rebounds and four assists. Pace is in the NE10 Tournament for the 18th time since joining the Conference prior to the 1997-98 season and aim for a seventh trip to the semifinal round. The Setters seek their first NE10 Championship, having reached the finals once in 2007.

Monday night will mark the 38th meeting all-time between these two programs, the third in postseason play – both of which have come in the NE10 Tournament. Stonehill holds a 27-10 advantage in the all-time series, despite dropping the last two meetings, including a 67-54 decision to Pace at the Goldstein Center on February 10. The Skyhawks have won both prior NE10 Tournament matchups, including a 55-53 semifinal round victory at the Goldstein Center in 2010. Schetter led the Setters in the regular season win over Stonehill earlier this month with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting, converting 7-of-8 free-throws, with eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Sophomore Jada Thornton was the lone player from Stonehill, who was without Raymond in the contest, in double-figures with ten points, four rebounds and a steal. The Skyhawks were limited to 25.9-percent shooting (15-for-58) on the night, including 3-for-10 (30%) from three-point distance.

The winner of Monday night's quarterfinal will advance to Thursday's NE10 semifinals to face the winner of Monday's matchup of Northeast No. 1 Southern New Hampshire University (21-5, 15-4 NE10) and Southwest No. 4 Southern Connecticut State University (12-13, 8-10-1 NE10). The higher seeds will host NE10 Tournament games throughout, with the Conference Championship scheduled for Sunday, March 6.

Pace also enters Monday night's game having won its last two, as well as four of five and seven of nine. The Setters lead the NE10 in scoring defense (57.4 ppg), while ranking seventh in scoring offense (64.6 ppg), second in blocked shots per game (4.6), third in field goal percentage defense (.366), three-point percentage defense (.288) and field goal percentage (.402) and are fifth in rebound margin (+1.5).
