The Game
Stonehill and Central Connecticut State cap off the 2023-24 regular season and conference play before the Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament with a meeting in New Britain, Conn. at Detrick Gym Saturday afternoon.  The season finale is practically a playoff game for the Skyhawks as it is a win-or-go-home scenario with Stonehill needing a win and a loss from Saint Francis in a NEC matchup against Le Moyne at 4 p.m. to move into the eighth seed and secure the final playoff spot. The Skyhawks are coming off a 79-51 loss to Sacred Heart in their home finale on Thursday coming into Saturday's matchup against the No. 2 seeded Blue Devils who are 12-3 in NEC action while winning three straight games and five of their last six.

Player of the Week
Sophomore Tony Felder (Brockton, Mass.) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week honor for the first time this season as well as earning his third NEC Prime Performer nod Monday afternoon. In last Saturday's 72-63 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) University at Merkert Gym, Felder scored a career-high 30 points on 10-19 shooting while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out three assists with zero turnovers in 34 minutes. Over the last three games (prior to Thursday night's game vs. Sacred Heart), Felder is averaging 18.7 points per game on a 46.3% shooting clip from the field to go along with 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest. His career-high of 30 points is the highest total by a Skyhawk this season and the most since grad student Max Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) scored 30 in a win over LIU last season on Feb. 16, 2023. Felder is the second Skyhawk this season to be named NEC Player of the Week, joining sophomore Chas Stinson (Charlotte, N.C.). Stinson earned the honor after recording career-highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds, notching the lone double-double for the Skyhawks this season, in a 59-58 loss at Rutgers on Dec. 31.
