NEC 2024 Football Schedule Announcement

EASTON, Mass. (January 30, 2024) – Stonehill College, in conjunction with the Northeast Conference, released its 2024 football schedule today.

Stonehill's third NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) schedule and its 37th varsity schedule overall includes four home dates and its third NEC slate of six games, featuring the return of former NEC member Robert Morris University. The Skyhawks include their five-game non-conference schedule to the NEC schedule the Conference has announced today.

Stonehill opens its 2024 schedule with two non-conference road games at CAA members against University at Stony Brook on Saturday, September 7, and then a return trip to perennial NCAA FCS Playoff participant University of New Hampshire on September 14. Stonehill and Stony Brook will meet for the first time in 34 years, when the programs played to a 27-27 tie in Easton, Massachusetts, in 1990 after the Seawolves posted a 41-31 triumph the last time the teams played on Long Island in 1989 – Stonehill's second varsity season.

Stonehill's 2024 home schedule will open with a non-conference matchup with Sacred Heart University on Saturday, September 21, before its NEC opener two weeks later after a bye week, when it hosts Wagner College on Saturday, October 5. Defending NEC Champions Duquesne University (Oct. 26) and Central Connecticut State University (Nov. 9) will also visit W.B. Mason Stadium for Conference matchups.

Stonehill's road schedule continues with back-to-back games at LIU (Oct. 12) for an NEC matchup and Merrimack College (Oct. 19). The Skyhawks road schedule finishes in a daunting three games in Pennsylvania with NEC matchups at Saint Francis University (Nov. 2) and Robert Morris (Nov. 23), in the season finale, with a trip to Patriot League member Lafayette University (Nov. 16) to cap the non-conference portion of the schedule in between.

Game times, broadcast and ticket information for the 2024 season will be announced on a later date.

Stonehill finished its second NCAA Division I FCS season tied for second in the NEC standings with a 4-3 mark in Conference play, posting a 5-5 record overall. Five Skyhawks earned All-NEC honors, including three on the first team.
