Ahern Earns High Point Rider as Equestrian Takes Home First Place Finish at Brandeis Show

BOLTON, Mass. (March 16, 2024) – Junior Madeline Ahern led the Stonehill Equestrian team to its first-place victory and high point team honor at the Brandeis College show in Bolton, Massachusetts Saturday morning.

  • The Skyhawks were highlighted at the Century Mills Farm by three regional qualifiers including seven first place finishes.
  • Ahern qualified for regional competition in the open fences event after taking home the top spot on the podium, before earning a first-place finish in the open flats.
  • Senior Sarah Herring also qualified for regionals in both the open fences and flat events.
  • Herring finished atop the podium in open flats, while also earning a top-five finish in the over fences event.
  • Junior Emma Worster rounded out the regional qualifiers on the day after finishing first overall in intermediate fences.
  • Senior Hadley Gilmartin, junior Grace Faddoul, and first-year Lauren Eager capped off the first-place finishers on the day.
  • Gilmartin earned the first-place ribbon in the novice division, while Eager and Faddoul finished atop the podium in the limit and open fence events, respectively.
  • First-year Mariah Russo in her collegiate debut took home a top-three finish in the introductory division.
  • Senior Lindsey Simmons finished second overall in the intermediate fences event to round out the top-three finishers on the day for the Skyhawks.
