Dolan Places 7th for USEF/Cacchione Cup at Nationals

La Crosse, Wis., senior earns purple ribbon in IHSA's top competition

HARRISBURG, Pa. (May 4, 2013) – Stonehill College senior captain Emily Dolan (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas) received a final placement of seventh in the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)/Cacchione Cup competition this morning at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships, hosted by the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex.

Dolan received her purple ribbon following final placement as part of the top ten riders following two phases of Cacchione Cup competition on Friday. The competition consists of the top 37 riders across the IHSA national stage, which represents the top ten percent of collegiate riders across the country. Dolan finished with a final score of 160 points, with Cacchione Cup winner Cori Reich of Centenary College compiling 174.25 points.

Dolan was in 16th place following the opening equitation over fences phase, earning 79 points for the event. She earned her spot in this morning's final placing draw by earning 81 points in Friday afternoon's equitation on the flat phase.

Dolan led the four Cacchione Cup riders from IHSA Zone 1, with Lindsay Wong from Brown University second among Zone 1 riders in tenth.
