Sophomore Nicole Borofski places 17^th in 3000-meter run with a time of 10:03.92

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 14, 2015) – Senior Maria Curit (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) and the 4x400-meter relay posted All-America efforts for the Stonehill College women's track & field team this evening to highlight day two at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the CrossPlex complex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Curit, who qualified for tonight's 800-meter run final after winning her preliminary heat yesterday with a time of 2:09.42, placed eighth and clocked in at 2:12.59 to secure her second career All-America performance. She posted her first All-America effort in the 800 last May at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Allendale, Michigan after placing seventh in 2:10.75.

Curit also ran the third leg of Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay that earned All-America honors with its sixth-place finish tonight in 3.48.60. Junior Jordan Gray (Warwick, Rhode Island/Toll Gate) opened with a 57.1-second split in the lead leg, classmate Jeana Esernio (Stony Brook, New York/Ward Melville) followed with a 58.1-second effort in the second leg, while Curit posted a time of 55.4 seconds in the third leg and junior Leanne Kent (North Andover, Massachusetts/Central Catholic) completed the anchor leg in 58.0 seconds. Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay entered the NCAA Championships seeded 12^th out of 13 entries with its program record time of 3:47.72.

Curit is now a three-time All-American following her performances this evening, while Gray, Esernio, and Kent earn All-American status for the first time in their careers.

Rounding out Stonehill's entries at the NCAA Championships was sophomore Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North), who was seeded 20^th out of 20 entries in the 3000-meter run. Borofski, who also ran with Stonehill's 4000-meter distance medley relay last night, turned in a time of 10:03.92, good for 17^th overall.

Borofski was joined by Curit, Gray, and sophomore Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) in the DMR on Friday, as Stonehill placed 11^th and earned a time of 11:47.00.
