Soffer and Fernandez lead four double-winners for Beavers
WALPOLE, Mass. (February 19, 2022) – Babson College posted a 9-0 victory over Stonehill College in the spring opener for both at Wimbledon 109 Tennis Club this afternoon.
Highlights
- Sophomore Adele Fernandez and freshman Olivia Soffer led four double-winners on the day for Babson. The duo combined for a win at No. 1 doubles, while Soffer didn't drop a game on her way to a win at No. 1 singles and Fernandez breezed to a win at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Juliette Moschella and freshman Emily Stouch also posted singles and doubles wins for Babson.
How it Happened
- Soffer and Fernandez started their day posting an 8-4 decision at No. 1 doubles against Stonehill senior Emma Markaryan and junior Cristina Solorzano Valencia.
- Moschella and Stouch added an 8-4 win at No. 2 against junior Lily Peter and freshman Marissa Such.
- Soffer and Fernandez won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively without dropping a game to clinch the match win for the Beavers.

Stonehill (6-6, 6-4 NE10) is off until Saturday, March 26, when it hosts Brandeis University. Babson (1-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) hosts RPI on Sunday, February 27, at 9 a.m.
