EASTON, Mass. (March 1, 2022) – Two members of the Stonehill College women's lacrosse program instrumental in Sunday's season-opening win at Molloy College have earned weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, the league announced.

Junior attack Lydia Rudden has been named the NE10 Player of the Week for the first time in her career, while senior preseason All-American Emma Sullivan has earned NE10 Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the first time. The duo played key roles in Stonehill's 20-14 season-opening win at Molloy on Sunday.

Rudden matched a school-record with eight assists, while adding two goals, to finish with a career-high ten points to lead the Stonehill offense on Sunday. She posted just the 13th double-figure point game in program history and contributed two ground balls and two caused turnovers in the win. Sullivan was a key in the Skyhawks establishing possession in the win, posting a team-high three caused turnovers and team-best six ground balls, while collecting a career-high matching 11 draw controls. She also contributed on the offensive side with a career-high matching five goals.

Rudden takes over the NE10 lead in scoring and assists with her ten points and eight assists on Sunday. She is also tied for third among Conference leaders with two caused turnovers. Sullivan shares the Conference lead with her three caused turnovers, ranking second with 11 draw controls and six ground balls. She is also tied for second in goals scored with five and tied for sixth in scoring with five points.

Rudden has started 13 of the 14 games she has played over her abbreviated three-year career at Stonehill, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to date. She is posted 19 goals and 37 assists for 56 points in that time, adding 14 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Rudden, named Stonehill's Spring Rookie of the Year in 2020, has received the Saint Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team and earned NE10 Academic All-Conference honors as a sophomore. She has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll all five semesters to date, with Academic Excellence status for having a semester GPA of 4.0.

Sullivan, named a preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine, has started 30 of her 32 career games played and totaled 65 goals and 15 assists for 80 points. The 2021 NE10 Northeast Division Midfielder of the Year has also contributed 65 ground balls, 96 draw controls and 28 caused turnovers in her career, converting 7-of-14 free-position shot attempts. She earned All-East Region honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and All-NE10 third team accolades as a junior and received Stonehill's "Breakout Sophomore" Award in 2020. Sullivan has also earned NE10 Academic Honor Roll status for her efforts in the classroom.

Stonehill (1-0, 0-0 NE10) is back in action next Monday, March 7, when it visits Lynn University in its first of two Spring Break games in Florida at 11 a.m. The Skyhawks home opener is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, when it hosts Le Moyne College, ranked No. 4 in this week's IWLCA Division II poll, for an NE10 matchup at W.B. Mason Stadium at 1 p.m.
