Braz leads Skyhawks pack in 49^th out of 256 runners overall

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 18, 2021) – Stonehill College, ranked No. 4 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II East Regional rankings, posted a 15^th place team finish out of 33 teams competing on the five-mile Robert Dowd Cross Country Course at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational today.  

Highlights

• Senior Shane Braz led the way for Stonehill by finishing 49^th overall, out of 256 runners, by completing the five-mile course in 26:00.16, marking a personal-best over five miles.
• Stonehill employed a pack-running strategy for the meet, its second of three over a three-week span, with its next three runners all finishing within nine seconds of each other between 89^th and 98^th place.

Team Talk

• Stonehill finished 15^th in the team standings, out of 33, with a score of 445. Division I University of Massachusetts Lowell won the team title with 44 points, followed by Trinity (Conn.) College in second with 107 points and then Worcester Polytechnic Institute in third with 108.
