The Details

  • Jacob Woznicki led the squad with three shots and had his best look of the day in the 12th minute when he was in front of Wilmore but his shot ricocheted off the left post. Woznicki's other shot on goal came in the 31st minute when he tried to put his shot past Wilmore's left side but the Blue Devils goalie made yet another stop.
  • Aidan O'Sullivan also had a shot on net in the 21st minute when he sent his attempt on Wilmore's right side but was turned away.
  • However, Dias Neto also had a strong first half himself as Central Connecticut had its fair share of chances including a look by Giulio Potenti. Potenti sent his shot on net and while it looked like it was going in, Dias Neto stuck his mit up to the top crossbar and poked the ball away, and kept the Purple and White within striking distance.
  • In the second half, the Blue Devils nearly broke the scoreless contest off a Kyle Halenhale header but again, Dias Neto came up with the stop.
  • Dias Neto made another clutch stop in the 79th minute when Joey Tata worked his way to the top of the box and sent his shot right at Dias Neto for the save.
  • Stonehill's best chance in the second came with under five minutes to play (86:44) when Shane Fonseca sent a strike to Wilmore's right but unfortunately saw his attempt saved.
  • Central Connecticut had two corner kicks in the final minutes (87:17 and 87:53) but the Stonehill defense held strong for the 0-0 draw.
  • Dias Neto finished with six saves on the day and he has now posted five or more saves in his last three starts.
