All of Stonehill's Home Matches Are NEC Opponents
EASTON, Mass (July 27, 2022)- Stonehill College men's soccer has announced the program's 2022 schedule featuring four home regular season matches that see Stonehill against first-time opponents and Northeast Conference teams.
The Skyhawks begin the year with a season-long eight-game out-of-conference road trip starting out with Atlantic-10 member, LaSalle University on Friday, August 26 at 6 p.m. The purple and white travel to New York for two contests starting Friday, September 2 at 4 p.m. against Canisius College followed by Niagara University on Monday, September 5 at 1 p.m.
Stonehill then heads out for their farthest game of the season heading to Minnesota to take on the University of St. Thomas of The Summit League on Saturday, September 10 at noon. After coming back from Minnesota, the Skyhawks stay on the New England side heading to Bryant University on Wednesday, September 14 at 3 p.m. followed by a trip to the University of Hartford on Saturday, September 17 at 3 p.m. Finally, the Skyhawks conclude their road games for September with matchups at Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, September 21 at 4 p.m. and Dartmouth College on Saturday, September 24 at 3 p.m. On Thursday, September 29, Stonehill has their first home Northeast Conference game versus Saint Francis College Brooklyn at 3 p.m., and three days later they take on Northeast Conference member Long Island University on Sunday, October 2 at 1 p.m.
After a brief two-game homestand, Stonehill is back on the road for a Northeast Conference matchup at Fairleigh Dickenson on Sunday, October 9 at a time to be determined but then return home just a few days later for another Northeast Conference contest taking on Howard University on Thursday, October 13 at 3 p.m. For the rest of October, the Skyhawks are on the road for Northeast Conference games at Sacred Heart University on Sunday, October 16 at 3:30 p.m. and Central Connecticut University on Sunday, October 23 at 3 p.m. Three days later, the Skyhawks have a quick out-of-conference matchup at UConn on Wednesday, October 26 at 7 p.m. before rounding out their road trip at Saint Francis University (Pa.) on October 30 at 2 p.m. Finally, Stonehill concludes their season with a home Northeast Conference match versus Merrimack College on November 3 at 3 p.m.
Stonehill finished the 2021 season with a 6-10-1 record overall, including 3-8-1 in the NE10 to finish in a four-way tie for ninth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings. The Skyhawks season featured its first win in program history against a team ranked No. 1 in the country with its 1-0 double-overtime triumph against Franklin Pierce at Skyhawk Field on October 23.
