FOXBORO, Massachusetts (February 18, 2020) The Stonehill College ice hockey team saw Jack Hall with his first-career hat trick in the Skyhawks' fourth-straight win Tuesday night, as they went on to defeat Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference play at Foxboro Sports Center.

  • The Penmen outshot the Skyhawks 40-36, as Stonehill capitalized on 4-of-9 power play opportunities and Southern N.H. went 0-for-4.

How It Happened:

  • Eight seconds into the Skyhawks' first power play opportunity, Stonehill won a faceoff in the Penmen's defensive zone, and Wright collected the puck after Raei tipped it over to Hall. Hall took the puck once more and skated it into the left faceoff circle finding the left upper 90 for a 1-0 advantage and his fourth goal of the season at 3:21 in the first period.
  • A little over two minutes later, Quinn stole the puck away from the Penmen in their defensive zone as they looked to clear the puck. Quinn skated it down the left side and then faked Gutting out before extending the Skyhawks' lead to two, 2-0, with his second goal of the season at 5:35.
  • Fifty two seconds into the second period, Stonehill had a minute and 44 seconds left on power play as Hall scored his second goal and second power play goal of the game. The Skyhawks set up in their offensive zone once again and swung the dish around the zone, finding Hall front and center as he slid it to the left of Gutting for a three-goal lead, 3-0.

  • With a three on two, Stonehill extended their lead once more to five, 5-0, as the Skyhawks bodied the Penmen near the benches and Nehmer pushed the puck over the line for his sixth goal of the season at 16:14.
  • The Penmen gained some momentum in the third period as Strawn hammered one home at 7:49 in the third period to cut the deficit to four, 5-1.  Galloway followed that up with his own tally at 16:11 cutting the deficit to three, 5-2.
  • With less than a minute left on the power play, Stonehill won another faceoff in their offensive zone and Frament found McElaney for a one timer and his first-collegiate goal at 18:02 to put their lead back to four, 6-2.
