EASTON, Mass. (October 26, 2009) - Three members of the Northeast-10 regular season champion Stonehill College field hockey have earned weekly honors from the Conference office this afternoon.

Senior forward Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) was selected as the NE-10 Player of the Week for the third time this season, while classmate Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time. Junior Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass. /Dennis-Yarmouth) rounded out the honorees with her third Goalkeeper of the Week award of the year.

Hourihan

Hourihan's third NE-10 Player of the Week honor (fourth career) comes after she scored a pair of goals for four points as Stonehill closed out the regular season with a pair of wins. She scored the lone goal in Wednesday's 1-0 triumph over 8th-ranked Merrimack College to clinch the top seed in the upcoming NE-10 Tournament. She scored the Skyhawks' opening goal in Saturday's 3-1 win at Southern Connecticut State University to sew up the regular season conference title.

Hourihan has matched her own single-season program record with 20 goals this fall to go with three assists for 43 points - five shy or her single-season record set last year. She leads the NE-10 with ten game-winning goals, while ranking second in the Conference for both goals and points. Hourihan has registered at least a goal in 11 of Stonehill's last 12 games.

Hourihan enters the postseason ranked second in program history with 49 career goals, only four shy of former teammate Caitlin Gleason's record of 53 set from 2004-07. Hourihan's 117 career points also rank second all-time to Gleason (132) and she ranks sixth with 19 career assists in 80 games played. She has netted 14 career gamewinning goals.

Kott

Kott collects her Conference-leading fourth Defensive Player of the Week honor after leading a Stonehill defensive unit which conceded just one goal while yielding only five shots per game, including three per game on goal. She also dished two assists over the two victories. The Skyhawk defense held Merrimack, the NE-10's No. 2-ranked offense, to just three shots (two on goal) in a 1-0 victory on Wednesday, assisting on the lone goal of the game. She set up the tying goal in Saturday's 3-1 win at Southern Connecticut, while the defense held the Owls to only seven shots, four on goal.

Kott leads Stonehill and ranks fourth in the NE-10 with her eight assists this season. She leads a defensive unit which leads the Conference with a 1.09 team goals against average and five shutouts. Kott has also posted one of the Skyhawks two defensive saves on the season.

In 81 career games played, Kott has dished 11 assists. She is a two-time ZAG/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Squad member.

Osier

Osier earns her third NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week award after posting a 0.50 goals against average and .833 save percentage with a shutout in a 2-0 week for Stonehill. She made two saves in Wednesday's 1-0 shutout victory over 8th-ranked Merrimack, and then stopped three shots in Saturday's 3-1 win at Southern Connecticut.

Osier has played all but 60:33 in the Stonehill goal this season. She leads the Northeast-10 with a 0.98 goals against average and five shutouts over 1,284:27 having started all 19 games for the Skyhawks this season. Her .695 save percentage ranks eighth in the Conference.

Osier is in her second season as the starting goalkeeper for Stonehill. In 42 career games played (39 starts), she has played 2,817:03 over her career and posted a 1.14 GAA with ten shutouts.
