The Game: Stonehill College is back on the road as it steps away from Northeast-10 Conference play for a weekend to visit NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) affiliate Bryant University, a former member of the NE-10, for a non-conference clash at Bulldog Stadium this afternoon. The Skyhawks have dropped four straight after last Saturday's 52-23 setback at No. 23-ranked University of New Haven. The Bulldogs are looking to get back on track after last week's 31-28 loss at Duquesne University in Western Pennsylvania that snapped a three game winning streak.

The Series: This afternoon marks the tenth meeting all-time between these two former Northeast-10 Conference rivals. Bryant has won eight of nine previous meetings, including each of the last seven encounters after a 34-6 triumph here at Bulldog Stadium in its final season at the Division II level in 2007. Stonehill is 0-5 all-time here in Smithfield, R.I., with its lone win in the series coming with a 45-13 triumph in Easton, Mass., in 2000. Head Coach Robert Talley is 0-1 in his career against Bryant.
Playing the FCS: This afternoon marks Stonehill's seventh game in program history against NCAA Division I FCS (formerly Division I-AA) members, it's first against Bryant since it moved up in 2008. The Skyhawks are 2-4 all-time against FCS members, with both wins coming against Bryant's fellow Northeast Conference member Wagner University - latter of which came with a 45-42 decision on Staten Island in 2009.

Rookie of the Week: Freshman linebacker Michael Hogan (Westborough, Mass.) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week by the league office. Hogan earns the weekly award for the first time after posting a season-best and game-high 11 tackles, including 0.5 sacks for a loss of four yards, for Stonehill in Saturday's setback at No. 23-ranked University of New Haven. His four solo tackles matched a team-high for the game and also matched his season best established against American International College in week four. Hogan assisted on the Skyhawks lone sack of the day that halted the Chargers opening drive, allowing Stonehill's offense to stake out an early 6-0 lead after a touchdown on its first possession.
He's Honored: Sophomore quarterback Logan Meyer (Ventura, Calif.) earned a spot on the Northeast-10's weekly honor roll for the second-straight week on Monday. He completed 24-of-38 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns at No. 23 New Haven on Saturday, engineering a Stonehill offense that posted 346 yards of total offense. His 16 yard scoring pass in the first quarter gave the Skyhawks an early lead and he added touchdown passes of three and 21 yards in the contest.
He's Blogging: Stonehill junior defensive back Mickey Miela (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) is maintaining a weekly blog for the Northeast-10 Conference on its website during the 2011 season. The website offers an insight into life as an NE-10 football student-athlete and will appear on www.northeast10.org and www.stonehillskyhawks.com.
Leaders of the Pack: For the third-straight year, Stonehill College is partnering with Pack Networks to provide live "Packcasts" of all home football and men's and women's basketball games along with other select athletic events. Fans can access the webcasts via www.stonehillskyhawks.tv. Viewers can opt to purchase single-game passes for $6.99 or purchase an "All-Access" pass for $59.99, however Skyhawks Fans who sign up for an All-Access pass before October 1 will receive a $10 discount. All-Access pass members can view all Stonehill webcasts for the entire year, while also gaining access to the archives and be able to watch the webcasts at any time.
Coach's Corner: www.stonehillskyhawks.com, the official website of Stonehill athletics will have weekly interviews with head coach Rob Talley throughout the season. Coach Talley will recap the previous week's game every Tuesday and then there will be a preview of the coming week's game each Thursday or Friday. Each interview is approximately ten minutes long and will give fans an inside look at each game this season. There will also be regular interviews with Skyhawks student-athletes as well.

On Deck: The Skyhawks return home next Saturday, October 15, when it hosts Pace University for a Northeast-10 clash on Family Weekend at 1 p.m. At halftime, the College will honor the 20th anniversary of the 1991 Eastern Collegiate Football Championship winning team. Stonehill has just two home dates remaining among its final six weeks of the season as it will also host Saint Anselm for the "Battle for the Ol' Bronze Hawk" on November 5.
