Stonehill Recreation FAQ's

Q: What are the hours of operation of the Sports Complex during the school year?

A: Monday-Thursday: 6:00am-10:00pm   Friday: 6:00am-8:00pm    Saturday/Sunday: 9:00am-6:00pm

Q: How do I start a Club team?

A: The process starts with contacting either Mark Lepage (Assistant AD for Rec: mlepage@stonehill.edu) or rec-sports@stonehill.edu with an idea for a new Club sport. If at least 10 students are interested, we would hold an interest meeting and go over some of the logistics with starting a Club team. The team would need to find a league to compete in, hold tryouts, obtain equipment, jerseys, secure field time, etc.

Q: What is the difference between Club and Varsity Sports?

A: With Varsity sports, student-athletes are recruited by coaches prior to coming to Stonehill. Varsity teams practice/compete 6+ days a week, and have film/lift sessions throughout the week. Club sports are still competitive, and teams compete in leagues against other schools, but the time committment is significantly less than a Varsity sport. Club teams practice 2 or 3 days per week and compete mainly on the weekends.

Q: What is the difference between Club and Intramural Sports?

With Club sports, there are practices, travel for games, and members pay dues to be on the team. Intramural sports are free for all Stonehill students, there are no practices, and games are played at Stonehill against Stonehill students.

Q: Where is the Recreation office located? How do I contact the Recreation Office?

A: SB 207C. Contact Mark Lepage (Asisstant AD for Rec): Email: mlepage@stonehill.edu Phone: 508-565-1773

Q: How do students reserve field time?

A:  Students cannot personally reserve a field/facility. If someone want to utilize field/facility space, they can contact Mark Lepage: mlepage@stonehill.edu and Mark will see if the space is open.
