NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships Schedule and Accepted Athletes list
EASTON, Mass. (May 23, 2018) – Stonehill College senior Alison Tobin (Hudson, Massachusetts/Hudson) is set to represent the women's track and field team at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, May 24.
Tobin, who qualified for her second NCAA Championship in her career, has been accepted to compete among the top 24 in the Division in pole vault. The senior has qualified to compete in the pole vault in each of her last two seasons at Stonehill and will get a chance to make her final mark in the Purple and White this Thursday. Throughout the entire outdoor season, Tobin continued to best her mark in the pole vault and currently holds the Skyhawk school record in both indoor and outdoor.
The Hudson, Massachusetts native kicked off the season breaking the previous school record set by teammate Ashley Colarusso (Tewksbury, Massachusetts/Tewksbury) at 10 feet, 10.35 inches. Tobin cleared a height of 11 feet, 7.75 inches at the Colonial Relays, almost a foot better than the previous record earning her first top-10 mark of the outdoor season placing seventh.
She then bypassed the NCAA provisional mark in April as she cleared a height of 12 feet, 1.5 inches at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College. This mark was also her first individual title of the outdoor season.
With a clearance of 12 feet, 9 inches at the NE10 Outdoor Championships two weekends ago, Tobin solidified her spot on the NCAA performance list putting her 12th among the field of 24 competitors, where 45 student-athletes actually qualified with their marks.

This outdoor season, Tobin was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-East Region team All-East Region outdoor team for the pole vault and the 4x100-meter relay. During the indoor season, she was also named to the regional team for pole vault. She also collected three All-Conference marks bringing her total to five in her career, including one indoor (pole vault) and two indoor (pole vault and 4x100-meter relay). Majoring in Healthcare Administration, Tobin was tabbed on the NE10 Academic All-Conference team during the indoor season for her first honor. She also notched her first-and second-career All-New England honor this outdoor season earning fifth-place in the 4x100-meter relay and seventh in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet, 5.5 inches.
In her previous three seasons, Tobin collected one more All-East Region nod, two more NE10 All-Conference accolades, and was named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
All session passes for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships are $30 for an adult ticket, while single session passes are $15 for adults. The Stonehill women's track and field team captured its fourth Northeast-10 Outdoor Championship in program history and followed that up with a ninth-place finish at the New England Championships. The Skyhawk women have now won nine-straight NE10 Championships, including cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field and have combined for 14 of the last 15 championships since 2013.
