Women's Soccer Duo Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

EASTON, Mass. (November 21, 2023) – Two Stonehill College women's soccer student-athletes including senior goalkeeper Mia Jackson and sophomore defender Rebecca Lancaster were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team. 

Jackson is a Northeast Conference (NEC) Academic Honor Roll recipient who is set to graduate in May with a degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics. The senior goalkeeper started in 16 of the team's 18 contests and tallied career highs in goals against average (2.41) and totals saves (84) on the season. Throughout her four seasons with the Skyhawks she has appeared in 26 games (started in 21) recording a career 2.13 goals against average, 124 saves, and four shutouts while also being named an NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week during her sophomore campaign. 

Lancaster earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time during her collegiate career thus far. The sophomore defender that is working towards a degree in biology started in all 18 of the team's matches this season, tallying three shots on goal and helping lead the Skyhawks to a clean sheet, 2-0, victory over conference opponent Delaware State on October 15th.

To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in her second year at the current institution and must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.

About College Sports Communicators

College Sports Communicators (CSC) was founded in 1957 and is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The current name of the organization was adopted following a member-wide vote on Aug. 31, 2022.

From its founding in 1957 until the 2022 name change, the organization as known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The name change signaled a major step in a larger strategic plan to highlight the association's evolution and expansion. The move better aligns with the association's membership makeup and further positions the organization to support and advocate for its members who serve in the communications, digital and creative sports industry, regardless of position or title.

The organization, which celebrated its 65th year during the 2021-22 academic year, is the second oldest management association in all intercollegiate athletics. College Sports Communicators became an affiliated partner with NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) in December of 2008.
