Last Time They Met
Binghamton notched a 59-51 victory over Stonehill on the second day of the 2000 Capital Key Classic, hosted by The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, on December 29, 2000. Jeffrey St. Fort led three Binghamton players in double-figures with a game-high 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting, converting 7-of-8 free-throws, to go with four rebounds and an assist. Joost Ooms added 12 points, making all five shots from the field, with eight rebounds and three assists. Kyle Quimby was Stonehill's lone double-figure scorer with 12 points and eight rebounds, while twin brother, Keith added nine points, six boards and two steals. Stonehill held a five-point (28-23) halftime lead, but Binghamton shot 52.4% from the floor in the second half to outscore Stonehill by 13 (36-23) over the final 20 minutes to claim the win. Stonehill shot just 24% (6-25) in the second half.

Last Time Out
Stonehill closed out the first month of its inaugural NCAA Division I season with a comfortable 92-45 victory over Eastern Nazarene at Merkert Gymnasium Wednesday night. Postgrad Max Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) canned a season-best six of Stonehill's season-high 13 three-pointers on his way to a career-high 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 6-for-11 from long range, with five rebounds and two assists in just over 24-minutes of play. He scored 20 of his points in the first half as the Skyhawks shot over 58-percent from the floor, including 7-for-15 (46.7%) from beyond the arc, in building a 31-point (50-19) halftime lead. All 14 of the Skyhawks who dressed played at least two and a half minutes, and 13 of those found the scorebook in the win. Fifth-year Andrew Sims (Mount Laurel, N.J.) scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half, finishing 5-of-7 shooting from the field, with three rebounds and two assists, while freshman Chas Stinson (Charlotte, N.C.) added a season-high 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-for-5 from three-point distance, with a season-best five rebounds, an assist, blocked shots and a steal.

Prime Performer
Stonehill fifth-year forward Andrew Sims (Mount Laurel N.J.) was recognized by the NEC as a Prime Performer for the second time this season on Monday. After first collecting the weekly recognition along with NEC Player of the Week accolades on November 14, Sims earned the award again after earning All-Tournament Team honors at the Tom Konchalski Classic last week as he averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals over the last two games of the event hosted by Fordham. He matched a season-high with 24 points and set a season-best with nine boards against UIC on Monday and then followed that up with 16 points, a career-high seven assists, five rebounds and career-best three steals against host Fordham on Tuesday, before missing Sunday's finale of the week at UMass Lowell. Sims and fellow fifth-year Isaiah Burnett (Annapolis, Md.) have both collected NEC Prime Performer recognition twice this season, with each also being named NEC Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks to open the season.
NEC Prime Performers:
Nov. 14: Andrew Sims & Isaiah Burnett
Nov. 21: Isaiah Burnett
Nov. 28: Andrew Sims

Super Saturdays
Stonehill has won both of its Saturday games this season, both away from Merkert Gym. The Skyhawks earned their first NCAA Division I win with an 82-77 decision over Army West Point, to go with an 81-79 win over Holy Cross on day one of the Tom Konchalski Classic at Fordham, putting both of those Saturday wins in the State of New York as well.

Taking Their Charity
Stonehill is shooting an astounding 83.2 percent from the free throw line over the first nine games of the season, nearly eight-percent higher than Merrimack (75.9%) in second. That mark is just a shade under national leader Miami of Ohio (83.5%). Last week, the Skyhawks went a perfect 11-11 from the line at Fordham. The NEC single-season record for free-throw percentage is 78.2 percent, established by CCSU in 2018-19. Stonehill currently has three players ranked in the NEC top-six in free throw accuracy, led by postgrad Max Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.), who has hit an NEC-high 92-percent of his attempts (23-for-25). Fifth-years Andrew Sims (Mount Laurel, N.J.) is ranked fourth and Isaiah Burnett (Annapolis, Md.) sixth, shooting 85-percent and 78.8%, respectively. (Note that due to NCAA Division I reclassification, Stonehill does not officially appear among NCAA statistical leaders for four years)

Exciting "Newcomer"
Stonehill fifth-year guard Isaiah Burnett (Annapolis, Md.) was named one of three "Exciting newcomers" to the NEC by Ryan Peters in the NEC Overtime! Blog this week. Burnett, named the NEC Player of the Week once and a two-time weekly Prime Performer, was cited for his Points Over Replacement Per Adjusted Game at That Usage (2.8). Per Hoop Math, Burnett has attempted 59% of his attempts at the rim, converting 68% of them. Just 8% of those near-the-rim makes were assisted, illustrating his strength of blowing by defenders. Defensively, Burnett is unique within the Skyhawks system, as he's the only player with a steal rate north of 2.2%. His rate of 4.6% is the best mark among NEC players and is 60th nationally.
