Ciulla-Hall

EASTON, Mass. (April 30, 2024) – Stonehill College baseball's senior Trey Ciulla-Hall and freshman Ryan LeClair were named the Northeast Conference Co-Player and Rookie of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Ciulla-Hall, a senior from Brockton, Mass., earned his first NEC Player of the Week award and fourth Prime Performer recognition of the season. He anchored the Skyhawks offense, leading them to a 4-1 record this past week. With a .333 batting average, 5-for-15 at the dish, a double, a triple, and three homeruns, Ciulla-Hall has extended his on-base streak to 23 straight games. His .524 on-base percentage and a 1.133 slugging percentage for a 1.633 OPS throughout the week improved his overall season OPS to 1.046 which ranks third in the conference.

LeClair, a first-year infielder from Foxborough, Mass., has made a remarkable start to his collegiate career. He secured his first collegiate weekly award as the NEC Rookie of the Week and was also named a Prime Performer for the first time. His outstanding performance helped lead the Skyhawks to a decisive 23-4 victory over conference opponent Coppin State on Friday.  LeClair drove home seven runs and finished the day a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, and three walks. His .500 / .800 / .706 slash throughout the week also earned him a 1.506 OPS.

In addition to Ciulla-Hall and LeClair's weekly awards, redshirt sophomore Sam Parks was recognized as an NEC Prime Performer for the second time this season after this past week of competition.

Parks flew around the bases all week, swiping six stolen bases and improving his team lead to 11-for-12 on stolen base attempts this season. Parks' stolen base mark ranks him 11th in the league while leading in sacrifice hits (11). In addition to his prowess on the base paths, the Marion, Mass., native extended his on-base streak to 12 straight games, going 6-for-16 with four walks, a double, five runs scored, and eight runs batted in.

Ciulla-Hall and LeClair are Stonehill's second and third weekly award winners of the season, joining junior Zach Gleason, who was recognized as the NEC Pitcher of the Week on March 5 after his outstanding five-strikeout pitching performance against Florida Atlantic University earlier in the season.

Stonehill (15-22, 10-11 NEC) returns to action this weekend for a three-game series against NEC opponent Delaware State University. First pitch of Friday's series opener between the Skyhawks and Hornets in Dover, Delaware is set for 3 p.m.
