EASTON, Mass. (March 5, 2024) – Stonehill College baseball's junior Zach Gleason was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

During Saturday's second game of a three-game set against Florida Atlantic University, Gleason earned his second career quality start after allowing just two earned runs over 6.0 innings of work with five strikeouts. On the season, the junior starter leads the Stonehill pitching staff with a win, 10 strikeouts, and a 2.45 earned run average.

In addition to Gleason's Pitcher of the Week award, he along with senior captain Trey Ciulla-Hall and redshirt sophomore Sam Parks were recognized as NEC Prime Performers for this past week of competition.

Parks extended his on-base streak to six games after going 5-for-12 at the plate with four walks, a stolen base, and three runs scored. The centerfielder also led the squad during the Skyhawks series finale against the Owls on Sunday, tying his single-game career-high mark with three hits on the afternoon.

Ciulla-Hall on the other hand improved his team-leading batting average to .400 after going 7-for-15 throughout the week with two walks, three runs scored, and four runs batted in. The senior out of Brockton, Mass., ranks top-five in the conference with his mark of an even .400 batting average.

Stonehill (3-4, 0-0 NEC) continues its 14-game road trip to open the 2024 season with a midweek matchup against the University of Miami on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks will then open conference action this weekend with a three-game set against Maryland Eastern Shore.
