Warriors Defeat Skyhawks in Four Sets

North Andover, Mass. - The Skyhawks dropped the first two sets before rallying in the third, but ultimately fell to conference leader Merrimack 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. 

The Skyhawks fell behind in the first set, as they recorded 10 errors on 16 kills and lost it 25-22. 

In the second, Stonehill once again didn't hit well and Warrriors took advantage, winning the set 25-15.

The third set saw the Skyhawks fight back and avoid the sweep as they hit a match high .245 in the set and came away with the hard fought 26-24 win. 

Stonehill couldn't hold on in the final set, losing another close one to Merrimack 25-23. 

Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) matched a career high with 20 kills and Anna Barczak (Ridgefield, Conn.) set a career high with 15 kills, while Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) added a season high 50 assists. 

On defense, Therese Mance (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Michelle Thornhill (Canyon Lake, Calif.) both set career highs with 23 and 17 digs respectively.

The loss drops the Skyhawks 16-10 on the season and 4-6 in NE-10 play. 

Stonehill returns to action when they host Southern Connecticut St. on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
