Skyhawks Sink Dolphins
Easton, Mass. - The Skyhawks used well placed attacks to beat the Le Moyne Dolpins in three sets and improve their record to 9-5 on the season.
Stonehill struggled in the first set, falling behind early, before taking control and winning 25-22. The second set the Skyhawks improved their hitting and won 25-19.
In the third set the Skyhawks used 15 kills and one error to sink the Dolphins 25-17.
Three players hit over .400 for the Skyhawks, with freshmen Michelle Thornhill (Canyon Lake, Calif.) and Laura Huselton (Penfield, N.Y.) recording 11 and seven kills respectively and Laura Noonan (Hampstead, N.H.) hitting a team high .500 on five kills.
Sophomore Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz) led the Skyhawks with 19 assists while Libero Therese Mance (Milwaukee, Wis.) added 14 digs.
The loss drops Le Moyne to 5-6 while Stonehill improves to 9-5.
The Skyhawks next take to the court when they have to travel to take on the University of New Haven on Tuesday, September 23 at 7:00 pm.
