North Easton, Mass. - Stonehill rallied from down a game on two separate occasions to post a dramatic, 3-2 win over visiting St. Anselm at Merkert Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

The Skyhawks, who now have one more win than they did the entire season, a year ago, move to 3-3 in the Northeast-10 with the victory. It is the second win this year for the Skyhawks over they Hawks. They defeated St. Anselm 3-0 on September 22 in a non-Conference affair.

After dropping game one 30-27, the Skyhawks took game two 30-28 but then promptly dropped game three 32-30. That game saw 19 ties and nine lead changes before St. Anselm finally pulled away.

Down 2-1, Stonehill took the final two games 30-22 and the final game, 19-17.

Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown, R.I.) led a quartet of Skyhawks in kills with 16 on .500 hitting, while freshman Erin Johnson (Centerville, Mass.) added 15 more.

Junior Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) posted a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs, while rising freshman Justine Thompson (Merrimack, N.H.) notched one of her own with 13 kills and a team-high 20 digs.

Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) contributed a career-high 59 assists and 11 digs for the victors, while opposing setter Kelly O'Dea provided 61 assists and 12 digs for St. Anselm.

The Hawks also got outstanding performances from Alana McNeil who had a match-high 27 kills on .440 hitting and Heather Sherlock who chipped in with nine kills and 22 digs.

Stonehill, now 6-12 overall, returns to the court on Tuesday when they host Conference leader Bryant at 7 p.m.
