North Easton, Mass. - Stonehill got 10 kills apiece from junior Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) and freshman Justine Thompson (Merrimack, N.H.) but it wasn't enough as Tufts University took a 3-0 non-Conference win over the Skyhawks at Merkert Gymnasium.

The first game was a back and forth affair that the Jumbos took, 31-29. Stonehill had an early advantage in game two when Thompson produced six of her kills. Tufts regrouped after a timeout and forged ahead, 30-27.

Game three saw a Jumbo lead dwindled down midway through but they held on for a 30-22 win.

Stonehill got a 31-assist performance from freshman Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.), six kills each from Laura Noonan (Hampstead, N.Y.) and Heidi Worner (North Kingstown, R.I.) and 10 digs from Samantha Marcin (Somers, N.Y.).

The Skyhawks, who have gone 2-2 over their last four matches, return to Northeast-10 competition when they host St. Michael's on Saturday at 11 a.m.
