BROOKVILLE, N.Y.-- The Stonehill volleyball team dropped a pair of non-league matches to New York Tech (3-0) and host C.W. Post (3-1) in second round play of the C.W. Post Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Pratt Center.

Sophomore Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) recorded 10 kills in the first setback for the Skyhawks, who fell to New York Tech by game scores of 30-22, 30-20 and 30-27. Junior Rebekah Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) added six kills and four digs against the Bears, while freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.) added 31 set assists.

Masson notched 15 kills (one off her career high) for Stonehill in the second match against C.W. Post, as the Skyhawks took the first game by a 30-27 margin before the Pioneers won the next three by scores of 30-11, 30-20 and 30-18. Saunders added 10 kills for the visitors, who received 27 set assists and a pair of service aces from Hordern.

Stonehill, 0-3 on the young season, opens Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday evening when the Skyhawks entertain Franklin Pierce in a league match at Merkert Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
