MANCHESTER, N.H.-- Senior Brittany Porter (Riverton, Wyo.) recorded 32 kills and five blocks to lead Southern New Hampshire to a 3-2 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball victory over Stonehill Wednesday evening at SNHU Fieldhouse.

After taking the first two games by scores of 30-26 and 30-28, the host Penmen (6-10, 2-4 Northeast-10) saw the visiting Skyhawks (5-13, 3-3 Northeast-10) come back to even matters, as Stonehill won the next two games by scores of 30-19 and 30-27, but Southern New Hampshire opened up an 8-2 lead in the fifth game before holding on for 15-12 win that decided the outcome.

Freshman Nicky Dumond (Tewksbury, Mass.) added 34 set assists and 10 digs in the win for Southern New Hampshire, who also received 22 digs from junior Colleen Eddy (Dracut, Mass.).

Senior Doree Blanco (Warwick, R.I.) was one of five players to record double-digit kill totals in the setback for Stonehill, as she notched 15 kills, 10 digs and five blocks, while sophomore Rebekah Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) added 14 kills and three blocks. Senior Lauren McNally (Ashland, Mass.) and freshman Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) each chipped in with 11 kills for the Skyhawks, while sophomore Sara Thompson (Millis, Mass.) added 10 kills and a pair of blocks for the visitors. Seniors Liane Kilmain (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and Mollie Babcock (Gilford, N.H.) combined for 47 set assists as well for Stonehill.

Stonehill heads back to Manchester, N.H. on Saturday morning for a non-league tri-match with Saint Anselm and Dominican that begins at 11:00 a.m., while Southern New Hampshire hosts Saint Michael’s in a Northeast-10 outing on Friday evening at SNHU Fieldhouse that begins at 7:00 p.m.
