Price, Insel Honored By NE-10
Easton, Mass. - Senior sprinter Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) and freshman Erica Insel (Clinton, N.J.) were honored by the Northeast-10 for their performances last week as announced by the conference on Monday.
Price earned NE-10 Male Track Athlete of the Week after finishing second in three events at the NE-10 Championships held on Saturday at UMass-Lowell. The senior finished second in both the 100 meter dash (10.72) and the 200 meter dash (22.18) and was also part of the 4x100 relay which finished second with a time of 43.47.
Insel meanwhile was honored as the NE-10 Female Freshman Field Athlete of the Week, following her first place performance. The freshman won the javelin with a school record toss of 122 feet five inches at the NE-10 Championships, breaking her own school in the process.
Making the NE-10 weekly honor roll for their work last week was senior Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.), sophomore Dan Pilz (Newington, Conn.) and freshman Steve Polito (Worcester, Mass.).
