Northeast-10 Championships Up Next For Skyhawks

Providence, R.I. - Lesley Clunie (Newburyport, Mass.) highlighted several stellar Stonehill performances with a second place finish in the 5000 meter event at the Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

Clunie (18:31.87) finished a distant second to Connecticut's Katie Vaughan (18:09.90) but was the top non-Division I finisher.

Freshman Angela Miller (Brockton, Mass.) had a strong showing in the 200 meter dash, finishing fifth but the top two places in the event went to UMass-Lowell, runners, individuals Miller will most likely see again in the Northeast-10 Championships.

Amanda Carnevale (Stony Point, N.Y.) placed 10 th in the 400 meter dash but was the top non-Division I participant, posting a time of 1:01.26.

Jen Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) collected a 13 th place finish in the 1500 meter run, while teammate Amanda Tripoldi (Darien, Conn.) was 18 th.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Anna Kern (Attleboro, Mass.) and Katrina Harkins (Derry, N.H.) finished ninth and tenth respectively, with only Lowell's Courtney Lincoln beating them out amongst non Division I entrants.

Megan Breault (Dayville, Conn.) took fourth in the 400 hurdles, while teammate Ashley Lane (Needham, Mass.) was ninth. The 4x400 team was second to Brown and Colleen Carmen (Drexel Hill, Pa.) finished in a tie for sixth in the high jump.

Stonehill returns to action next Saturday when the Skyhawks take part in the Northeast-10 Championships at Bryant University.
