BOSTON, Mass.-- School records and standout performances were the order of the day for both Stonehill indoor track and field squads over the weekend during competition at both the Boston Indoor Games at the Reggie Lewis Center and at the Boston University Terrier Invitational at the Case Center.

Junior Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) turned in the best indoor performance of his career on the men's side for the Skyhawks, as he ran the fastest time of any individual in the country to date this winter in the mile, shattering the school record with a time of 4:07.22 at the Boston University Terrier Invitational. Gill automatically qualifies for the upcoming 2007 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships to be hosted by Stonehill at the Reggie Lewis Center on March 9th, as his time was nearly three seconds better than the previous best time posted this season by Larry McDaris of the Colorado School of Mines, who ran a 4:10.14 mile. Gill's time also bettered the previous school record of 4:09.77 set by Mario Fraioli three years ago.

Sophomore Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) broke his own school record in the 55 meters, posting an event winning time of 6.38 at the Boston Indoor Games and provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the process. Price set the record with a time of 6.48 last weekend at Rhode Island before shattering it at the Reggie Lewis Center. Sophomore Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.) set a pair of school records as well at the Boston Indoor Games, as he set new standards in both the long jump (22 feet, ½ inch) and triple jump (42 feet, 7 inches), while senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) added a second place finish in the 200 meters (22.32) and finished fourth behind Price (6.61) in the 55 meters for the Skyhawks, who finished fifth in the team competition at the Boston Indoor Games as the top Division II squad, besting the likes of Boston College and Holy Cross in the process.

On the women's side, freshman Bridget DeVincent (Attleboro, Mass.) finished third behind a pair of Boston College runners in the 3,000 meters at the Boston Indoor Games for Stonehill, as she posted a time of 10:15.22. At the Boston University Terrier Invitational, senior Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) placed 14th in the mile with a time of 5:06.30 (best among Division II entrants), while fellow senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) was 20th overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:50.22.

Both Stonehill squads return to action next Saturday by heading to Medford, Mass. to compete in the Tufts Invitational that begins at 10:00 a.m.
