EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Cara Bednar (Marblehead, Mass.) and freshman Lindsay Horne (Scituate, Mass.) were winners in both singles and doubles play as Saint Michael's remained tied for first in the Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis standings with a 6-3 league dual-match triumph over Stonehill Saturday afternoon on the Stonehill Courts.

Bednar and Horne prevailed at the first two singles spots for the visiting Purple Knights (10-6, 9-1 Northeast-10) and teamed up for an 8-6 triumph at number two doubles, while senior Liz Clemente (Latham, N.Y.) and freshman Catherine Dalton (Easton, Mass.) were both victorious in singles play as well for Saint Michael's, which collected its other point via an 8-6 win at number one doubles by senior Cailie Burns (Chepachet, R.I.) and junior Megan Conway (Lynnfield, Mass.).

Junior Allison Bleakney (Lewiston, Maine) was a winner in both singles and doubles play for the host Skyhawks (7-4, 4-2 Northeast-10), as she posted a straight set triumph at number five singles and teamed up with freshman Jessica Schaaf (Old Lyme, Conn.) for an 8-4 victory at number three doubles. Freshman Lauren Rowinski (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) picked up the other point of the day for Stonehill with a three set win at number three singles.

Stonehill hosts Pace in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Sunday morning on the Stonehill Courts beginning at 11:00 a.m., while Saint Michael's hosts Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday afternoon in Colchester, Vt. at 3:30 p.m.
