EASTON, Mass.-- The Stonehill women’s tennis team remained unbeaten on the 2005 season by posting a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match sweep of Merrimack Thursday afternoon on the Stonehill Courts.

Seniors Karen McAuley (Raynham, Mass.) and Susan Noblin (Raynham, Mass.), junior Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) and freshmen Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) and Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) each posted wins in both singles and doubles play for the host Chieftains (7-0, 7-0 Northeast-10), who also received a three-set win at number three singles from junior Anna Walsh (Dennis, Mass.). Junior Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.) teamed with McAuley for an 8-6 win at number one doubles for Stonehill as well.

The visiting Warriors fall to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Northeast-10 play with the setback.

Stonehill travels to Springfield, Mass. on Friday afternoon to take on American International in a Northeast-10 dual-match that begins at 3:30 p.m., while Merrimack hosts LeMoyne in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Friday afternoon in North Andover, Mass. beginning at 3:00 p.m.
