RINDGE, N.H.-- The Stonehill women’s tennis team closed out its regular season schedule on Friday afternoon by posting its seventh sweep of the season with a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Franklin Pierce on the FPC Courts.

Seniors Karen McAuley (Raynham, Mass.) and Susan Noblin (Raynham, Mass.), juniors Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) and Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.) along with freshman Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.), each posted wins in both singles and doubles play for the visiting Chieftains (11-1, 11-1 Northeast-10), who have won three straight and have posted 9-0 sweeps in six of their last seven matches alone. Junior Anna Walsh (Dennis, Mass.) posted a victory at the number four singles spot as well for Stonehill, while Noblin and freshman Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) teamed up for an 8-4 triumph at the number three doubles position.

The host Ravens fall to 6-16 overall and 4-7 in Northeast-10 play with the setback.

Stonehill has clinched at least second place in the final Northeast-10 regular season standings and will be the second seed in the upcoming conference championships, which begin on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Chieftains will host either Assumption or LeMoyne as the seventh seed in Wednesday’s quarterfinal round on the Stonehill Courts. Franklin Pierce closes out regular season play on Monday afternoon by heading to North Andover, Mass. to take on Merrimack in a Northeast-10 dual-match that begins at 3:00 p.m.
