SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-- The Stonehill women’s tennis team claimed its eighth straight victory on Friday afternoon by posting a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match sweep of American International on the AIC Courts.

Senior Karen McAuley (Raynham, Mass.), juniors Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) and Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.), and freshmen Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) and Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) were winners in both singles and doubles play for the visiting Chieftains (8-0, 8-0 Northeast-10), who also received a triumph at the number four singles spot from junior Anna Walsh (Dennis, Mass.). Clark and fellow freshman Allison Bleakney (Lewiston, Maine) teamed up for an 8-0 victory at the number three doubles spot for Stonehill, which dropped just two games as team for the entire match.

The host Yellow Jackets fall to 0-5 both overall and in Northeast-10 play with the setback.
