Prior to Stonehill, he was a volunteer assistant coach with the Boston College women's soccer team from 2020-22. With the Eagles, he assisted in team training with a focus on technical development, attacking set pieces, opponent scouting, as well as some off-field duties. He spent the 2019 season with the University of Rhode Island women's soccer team where he assisted in team training with a focus on the defensive team tactics while also assisting with off-field duties. Galvin was responsible for a defensive unit that allowed only 21 goals against on the year and recorded six shutouts. Galvin also spent the 2019-20 season serving as a head coach with the Global Premier Soccer Club, coaching U17 GPS MA Elite and U16 GPS MA Elite girls' squads.

From 2015-2019, Galvin served as the MetroWest Regional Director and head coach of the Scorpions Soccer Club. In addition to coaching the U14 and U13 NPL squads, U12 MetroWest Elite, and the U23 women's summer team, he was responsible for regional teams and coaches, camps and clinics, the junior academy, player development, and recruiting. During his time with the Scorpions Soccer Club, Galvin also served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Stonehill College men's soccer team. Galvin is currently the Boston Bolts South Shore Girls Assistant Director.
 
Galvin was a four-year member of the UMass Lowell men's soccer team. He was a member of the 2008 squad that earned a Northeast-10 regular season title and advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

A native of Brockton, Mass., Galvin graduated from UMass Lowell in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in business management and finance.
