Skyhawks Fall to St. Anselm

Easton, Mass. - The Skyhawks played to a score first half but couldn't match the Hawks in the second, falling to St. Anselm 2-1 and dropping their record to 3-3-1. 

The first half was played to a scoreless draw, however the second half was a different story. 

The Hawks struck less than five minutes into the second half, when sophomore midfielder Keara Dolan scored off a rebound from Heidi Reece to put the Hawks up 1-0. 

In the games 56th minute, St. Anselm extended its lead to 2-0, when Teressa Vercollone took a crossing pass from Jennifer Pearl and put it past senior keeper Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.)

The Skyhawks fired back in the games 65th minute, when Kirstie St. Martin (Providence, R.I.) beat the Hawk defenders and fired it past goaltender Jacqueline Cooney to cut the lead in half. 

Stonehill couldn't get the equalizer however, and dropped their record to 3-3-1 on the season.  

The Skyhawks next take to the field when they travel to face off against Southern N.H. on Tuesday, September 23 at 7:00 pm.
