Easton, Mass. - The Skyhawks had a multitude of chances to score but were unable to put the ball in the net and Le Moyne took advantage of a direct kick in overtime as they beat Stonehill 2-1 on senior day at Skyhawk Field.

Behind senior Sabrina Cataldo (Saugus, Mass.) the Skyhawks put early pressure on the Dolphins, firing two shots and having three early crosses cut off by keeper Amanda Abbatiello.

At the 10 minute mark Le Moyne caught freshman keeper Sarah Hickey (Lee, Mass.) out of position but Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.) made a sliding save at the six.

However, a foul during the pursuit of the bouncing ball gave the Dolphins at Penalty kick, which Megan O'Shea hit home for the 1-0 lead.

The two teams continued to exchange shots but the Skyhawks finally got on the board in the 34th minute.

Kelsey Mahoney (Rehoboth, Mass.) ran under Kirstie St. Martin (Providence, R.I.) chip shot, one touched it and fired it past Abbatiello for her second goal in as many games and a one all tie going into the half.

In the second the Skyhawks continued to pepper the Dolphin net with shots, as Stonehill outshot Le Moyne 5-1.

The Skyhawks also had seven corner kicks but were unable to get one past Abbatiello, who had three second half saves as neither team could score again in regulation.

Just 40 seconds into overtime Abbatiello made a diving stop of a Kirstie St. Martin shot that was headed for the lower left corner of the net.  The Skyhawks were unable to capitalize on the ensuring corner kick as well.

Le Moyne got their break when they were awarded a direct kick 25 yard away from the goal at the 94:30 mark.  Rachel Farneti then lofted the ball to Christina Harrison who sent a header to the upper right corner of the net, past Hickey's outstretched arms for the game winner and a 2-1 win.

Hickey had two saves in net for the Skyhawks who outshot Le Moyne 14-8 and had 12 corner kicks in the match.

The loss drops Stonehill to 4-12-1 overall and 3-9-1 in NE-10 play.

The Skyhawks return to action when they take on perennial conference leader Franklin Pierce on Wednesday at 3:30.
